Hotstar has recently released the trailer for Criminal Justice, its original scripted show below the new'Hotstar Specials' banner, which also will come with a launch date: April 5, 2019. According to the 2008-09 BBC Collection of the Exact Same title, the Indian variant of Criminal Justice celebrities Vikrant Massey (A Death at the Gunj), Pankaj Tripathi (Gangs of Wasseypur), Jackie Shroff (Hero), Anupriya Goenka (Padmaavat), Gaurav Dwivedi (Inkaar), Mita Vashisht (Rahasya), along with Rucha Inamdar (Bhikari) among others. After he is charged with her murder and rape from the authorities -- he does not have any memory of these events himself -- a defence attorney (Tripathi) steps into plead his case, imagining that the taxi driver has no previous record and hails from a great family.

Hotstar's Criminal Justice includes a large bar to clear, given it's not just drawing directly off a critically-acclaimed string, but also competing with all the current memory of its own American HBO remake, The Night Of. Peter Moffat composed the first five-episode British variant to the BBC at 2008, starring Ben Whishaw (Spectre), that went on to acquire two BAFTA TV awards and an International Emmy. Subsequently in 2016, Richard Price and Steven Zaillian throw Riz Ahmed (Rogue One) and John Turturro (Do the Ideal Thing) at The Night Of, that won five Emmys, such as Best Actor for Ahmed.

Criminal Justice will launch April 5, 2019 on Hotstar. It is the 2nd new first under Hotstar Specials, following M.S. Dhoni docu-drama Roar of the Lion, together with longer to accompany , such as remakes of The Office and Israeli series Hostages.
